Grillz in Paris 5th – Quartier Latin

The Quartier Latin takes its name from the Latin once spoken by students at the Sorbonne, and eight centuries later it is still Paris's densest concentration of schools, grandes écoles, and student housing. Rue Mouffetard, one of the oldest market streets in the city, runs downhill from the Panthéon past cheese shops, wine bars, and a Friday-night crowd of students who treat the whole street as an open-air terrace. It is a youthful, international district, full of exchange students and postgraduates who have grown up on American hip-hop and UK drill and arrive already knowing exactly what a grillz is.

Because so much of the population here turns over every academic year, we get a steady stream of first-time clients working with a tighter student budget, more often choosing silver or a single dental-gold tooth than a full diamond-set piece. The Jardin des Plantes and the nearby Mosquée de Paris add a different, quieter rhythm to the arrondissement's southern half, and Maubert-Mutualité in the north keeps a slightly older, more academic crowd around its book and print shops.

Student schedules being what they are, demand spikes around exam periods ending and at the start of each term, when people arrive in Paris with a bit of savings to spend on something they have wanted for a while. We generally arrange a mould appointment near Cluny-La Sorbonne, in the heart of the student quarter, which is a direct métro ride from Châtelet and easy to reach between lectures.
