Style guide
Grillz styles Paris
A set of grillz made in Paris comes down to three choices: how many teeth, which metal, and whether it carries stones. This guide walks through each decision so you arrive at your mould appointment with a real specification, not just an idea.
The short version
- Silver is the most affordable way in; solid gold holds its colour and shine for years.
- Every piece is cast from a mould of your own teeth, cold and fully removable — no drilling, no glue.
- Dental gold / chrome is a durable budget metal; solid karat gold is the choice if you want the colour to last.
- Stone-set pieces price on the stone type and the number of teeth set, separate from the metal.
Step 1 — coverage: how many teeth
Coverage drives both the look and the price, because every price on our menu is per tooth. A full top row costs roughly six times a single cap in the same metal. Start with what shows when you smile and talk naturally in Paris café light — for most clients that's four to six teeth on top.
A single cap on one canine is the cheapest way to wear real metal. A full set of eight on the bottom row reads as the boldest statement per euro, because the lower teeth show the most when you speak.
| Coverage | Who it suits | Relative cost |
|---|---|---|
| Single cap (1 tooth) | A first piece, worn daily, understated | Lowest |
| Top two | Classic starter set, centre teeth only | Low |
| Top six / bottom six | The smile-line set most people order | Medium |
| Bottom eight | Maximum impact when speaking | Medium-high |
| Full top and bottom | Statement and event sets | Highest |
Are grillz removable?
Yes — every piece we make simply slides on and off your own teeth. There's no drilling, no filing, no bonding at any stage; the piece is cast separately from a mould and is removable at will, so you take it out to eat, brush and sleep.
Step 2 — metal: silver, gold and karat
Silver is the entry material: it polishes to a bright mirror finish, it's light in the mouth, and it's affordable enough to try a shape before moving to gold. It tarnishes gently over time, which is normal for silver, and a quick polish brings it straight back.
Dental gold / chrome and solid karat gold answer different questions. Dental gold / chrome gives the gold look at the lowest metal price, and it's a solid daily option for a single cap. Solid gold is priced by karat: 9K is the hardest and palest, 14K is the everyday sweet spot, 18K is the deepest yellow and the softest. White, yellow and rose gold cost exactly the same at the same karat — the colour is a finishing choice, not a different amount of gold.
If you want the gold colour and shine to last for years rather than fade with wear, solid karat gold — even a small single cap — is the honest recommendation over dental gold / chrome, which is a budget metal rather than a long-term investment piece.
| Metal | Character | Maintenance |
|---|---|---|
| Silver | Bright white mirror finish, lowest cost | Tarnishes gently; polish occasionally |
| Dental gold / chrome | Warm tone, hard-wearing everyday metal | Very low |
| 9K gold | Palest yellow, hardest, most scratch-resistant | Very low |
| 14K gold | The daily-wear standard — good colour, good durability | Very low |
| 18K gold | Deepest yellow, softest, most premium feel | Handle with care |
| White / rose gold | Same price as yellow at the same karat | Very low |
Gold vs chrome — which should I choose?
Chrome (dental gold / chrome) gets you the gold look at the lowest metal price, and it wears well day to day — a sensible choice for a first single cap. Solid karat gold costs more but keeps its colour and shine for years rather than being a budget finish. If you plan to wear one piece for the long term, gold is the better investment; if you're trying a shape first, chrome is the lower-risk start.
Step 3 — stones: moissanite or lab diamond
Setting stones is hand labour, so a stone-set piece is priced on the stone type and how many teeth carry them. Moissanite is the value pick — near-diamond hardness and plenty of fire, at a fraction of diamond's price. Lab diamonds and natural diamonds suit those who want the real stone and the value that goes with it.
Each stone option on our price list can be combined with silver, 9K, 14K or 18K gold — the final per-tooth price is simply the combined figure shown on the pricing page.
Is moissanite a good choice for grillz?
Yes — it's the best-value stone-set option. It's extremely hard, throws plenty of fire, and it lets you set a full row of teeth for what a couple of diamond teeth would cost.
Step 4 — finish and custom shapes
Finish is what stops a piece looking like a slab of metal. Open face frames each tooth and leaves the enamel showing through the centre — the most understated way to wear gold around Paris. A satin finish softens the mirror shine for a heavier look in photos and in person.
Shapes we're asked for most in Paris: pointed or extended canines, bar links running across two or more teeth, engraved lettering and initials, and mixed-metal sets where the canines are a different colour from the incisors.
- Open face — metal frame, natural tooth visible in the centre
- Satin finish — a softer, less mirror-like shine
- Bar link — one continuous piece across several teeth
- Engraving — initials, lettering or patterns cut into the face
- Mixed metal — gold canines with silver incisors, or similar combinations
Putting it together
A complete spec reads like this: "top six, 14K yellow gold, moissanite on the two centre teeth." If you can say that, we can quote it the same day. If you're not sure yet, bring a straight-on photo of your smile and your budget to the booking form — we'll suggest two or three specs that fit, ready for your Paris mould appointment.
More questions
What's the most popular grillz style in Paris?
A polished top six in silver or 14K gold, with the option of setting the two centre teeth. It's comfortable enough for a full evening out, and it's the price point most Paris clients start at.
Can you copy a style from a photo?
Yes. Send the reference and we'll tell you honestly what carries over to your teeth and what doesn't — tooth shape and spacing change how a design sits, so it's usually an adaptation rather than an exact copy.
